Hey, it's been a year since I started Ex-Ninja, the follow-up to my former blog Ninja Dixon. Nowadays when you google Ex-Ninja you will find this blog at the top, but before that it was actually something completely different:
1. Ex-ninja
A friend or confident of your ex that goes to the same parties/gatherings as you and informs your ex what you were doing and who you were with at said function. Ultimately, your ex will show as to send and icy cold/frosty stare to you that would make kittens cry.
Urban Dictionary
That's as far from me as possible actually, at least the last 15-16 years. I was more jealous as a young man.
So I'm not jealous now then? Not at exes, I just don't care actually. But I still can feel a sting in the heart after leaving Ninja Dixon, hoping to find new readers through Typepad. It's gone very slow. The statistics is a little bit better now, when I get more and more steady readers checking in every day to see if I have something new to offer.
This might seem cynical, but you see, compared to some guys I've known I care about readers. If you don't have anyone who's reading your texts there's nothing worth writing for. I write for YOU, because I want to share my movie-viewing experiences to others.
I'm not sitting here writing for myself, for the drawer. I write because I want other people to watch movies, sometimes movies they didn't know existed - or movie that deserves a reconsideration. That's why I'm writing about almost every kind of movie - except maybe comedies and normal, mainstream-dramas. Well, I can review a blockbuster from time to time - but it needs to go a few years since its release.
So the reason why I'm here is you. Not for me. Not to give my movie collection a reason to exist. I need you, and I hope you'll stay at least another year.
Thanks,
Fred

Oddest description I ever read of the word "Ex-ninja".......hahahhahahhahah.....someone must have been high.

Yeah, I for one, appreciated that.......but like i told you before....I think your influence is bigger than you might notice.
But you will probably NEVER get any recognition for that......just accept it.
Nice rant...thanks Fred.

Well of course I'll stick around another year, Fred. No one else is reviewing what you do and no one else seems to have such a great enjoyment of actually watching movies.

Hi Fred,
I read all your posts, but usually through a feed in my browser or on flipboard on my iPad. I don't know if typepad picks that up, but if not, then I think your readership may be higher than reported.
I love your blog/post !
I still think you should offer the entire NINJA DIXON blog as a print-on-demand book or epub. I'd buy it !

Thanks volker!
It would be fun to do something with Ninja Dixon, but it's so much material to go through... :)
